As the project continues to grow, the coming year will bring a new group of artists into the app, each chosen for how distinctly they expanded the language of painting in their own time.
These biographies will follow the same approach as the existing experiences, narrated journeys through an artist’s life, their ideas, and the works that defined them, presented in augmented reality.
Artists that are planned for the next few months include:
- Peter Paul Rubens, exploring movement, scale, and the energy of Baroque storytelling
- Johannes Vermeer, focusing on quiet interiors, light, and observation
- Caravaggio, tracing his radical realism and dramatic use of light and shadow
- Joseph Wright of Derby, examining science, industry, and the Enlightenment through art
- Gustave Courbet, following his rejection of idealism in favor of raw, modern life
Each of these additions continues the larger goal of the project, bringing the museum experience into personal space, one artist at a time. We can’t wait to bring these artists story to life in augmented reality!
