One of the biggest challenges in building this project has been maintaining consistency, not only in the quality of each biography but also in the time invested in creating them. After a while, the work can start to feel more like a job than a passion project, and finding balance becomes essential.

A key insight along the way has been the importance of refining the workflow to remove as many friction points as possible. The more time spent on meaningful creative work rather than technical details, the better the results.

Recently, a major breakthrough came with the ability to generate picture frames automatically. Previously, each painting had to be framed individually, but now it’s all done through code. This change became crucial when working on Goya’s Los Caprichos and Los Desastres de la Guerra, which together include more than 160 prints. Automating that process felt like taking one step back to build a system that ultimately propels the project forward. It’s a shift that should make future biographies faster and smoother to complete.
